About me
I'm an endlessly pleasant Midwesterner who has learned the value of (kindly, tactfully, and constructively) sharing my honest feedback, insight, and ideas to help others. I'm happiest in my work when I'm helping to make other people look good.
I graduated from Pomona College in 1997 with a BA in English (cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa). I spent my 20s exploring the world and my 30s conquering corporate America. I've taken and given countless trainings focused on winning in the marketplace, connecting with clients and customers, building stronger teams and relationships, and crafting better, more strategic messaging. In 2017, I left my leadership role at a Big Four firm in the hopes of building my own business focused on helping other small to mid-sized businesses.
For more than a decade, I led pursuits for Ernst & Young LLP (EY). Most recently, I managed a team of 10 other communication and pursuit strategists (writers, editors, and project managers) working in offices throughout the US West Region. I served as my team's resident trainer for eight years. In 2016, I was selected as an Americas Region finalist for the firm's prestigious, global "Better Begins With You" award program.
In addition to my EY experience, I have wide-ranging writing and editing experience across industries, with strong experience in financial services, technology, and real estate. I have ghostwritten more than 300 blog articles and dozens of eBooks. I have helped 30+ businesses to conceptualize and create new websites, and helped several others to rethink and revise existing websites. I have edited manuscripts. I have reviewed and revised countless internal and external communications.
I live in central Denver with my family and our two cats. Someday I hope to write a book of my own. I spend my free time skiing, reading, hiking, working on our vintage travel trailer, buying nonsense at the thrift store, and failing to stay on top of the yard work.
Rates
To keep things fair, flexible, and transparent, I typically charge clients by an agreed-upon hourly rate. (Don't worry — I'm ridiculously trustworthy.)
Testimonials
Working with someone new necessitates a leap of faith. To make your leap easier, I've provided testimonials from several past colleagues and clients. To gain a clearer idea of who I am and how I work, I invite you to review them.
